Ana Paula da Silva was born in Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil. Her musicality started to take shape as a child, when her father taught her  the great traditional brazilian songs.With an autodidact education in music, with  fourteen years old Ana  Paula started her musical career, developing in a natural way from a performer to a gifted guitar player and composer too. With strong characteristics of a great interpreter and her own unmistakable identity, Ana Paula met from 2004 to 2005 with great musicians like Robertinho Silva, Arnou de Melo, Beto Lopes along other new talents, to make the recording of her first solo album, “Canto Negro”. With this project, she performed shows in the Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Juarez Machado Theater, Municipal Theater of Itajai, SESC Prainha and a toured Austria  with various successful performances. Since 2004, in Brazil and Europe, Ana Paula toured with the composer, arranger and guitarist Alegre Corrêa, and recorded with Alegre her second CD, “Por Causa do Samba”.

In her fourteen years career, Ana Paula has shared the stage with great names like Elza Soares, Tavinho Moura, Toninho Horta, Leny Andrade, Lô Borges, among others. She has also performed with recognized musicians in Brazil and Europe, like Robertinho Silva, Karl Hodina, Jeff Gardner, Wolgang Muthspiel. She toured for five weeks in Europe with the great Joe Zawinul and his group, Joe Zawinul Syndicate. Ana Paula has been widely recognized in Brazil for producing and editing herself beautiful records, awarded by institutions like Ministério da Cultura, Cultura Estadual de Santa Catarina  – Mecenato and SIMDEC. This artistic choice reflects her comprehensive vision of the musical process.

In 2009, endorsed by SIMDEC Publishing House, she launched her third project: an audio book called  “Contos em Cantos”, produced, composed and arranged by Ana Paula, in which she accompanies with music several stories for children. During the second semester of 2009, she launched her fourth CD  “Aos de Casa” (winner of the Pixinguinha Award) and toured several cities in Santa Catarina (Joinville, Curitiba, Florianópolis, Pomerode) and Austria in November 2010. This new record received great reviews and airplay in the prestigious “Sintonia Fina” by the great journalist and producer Nelson Motta.

In 2010 she was invited by the group “Chá de Cevada” to make a tour at the SESC Music Circuit, singing and performing music composed by Edson Marques. She recently released her 5th record, “Pé de Crioula”, produced and recorded in Rio de Janeiro, with arrangements made by the great carioca musician Cláudio Jorge accompanied by some of the most prestigious samba musicians of Brazil.
